Who we are: The African Heritage Center provides creative and cultural space to the Baltimore community, and to the African community in the United States. Our activities include the arts, African cuisine, health awareness and cultural diplomacy.
Signature Events: Our main events include the African Heritage Walkathon and the African Heritage Cultural Trade Fair. Through partnership with Tictocmind Technologies, we also promote artists through stage & film instruction and productions; videography and photography.
African Heritage Walkathon: Every year, in the African spirit of utu (humaneness), we hold the competitive African Heritage Walkathon to benefit an individual who is fighting daunting health challenges, or a group that is contributing towards the health and well-being of others.
Through the walkathon, the African Heritage also seeks to be a point of contact and engagement between the African community and Baltimore businesses, schools, charities and local government.
2016 Beneficiary: Walk for Munene Mwangi & family.
Munene is a stroke survivor on long-term care at Genesis Nursing Home since 2015. He has been a generous member of the community. We walk for him and his family's well-being as he fights for his life.

African Heritage Creative Skills Trade Fair: The African Heritage is working its inaugural month-long creative skills trade fair aimed at showcasing the best of Africa’s creative trades. This will include the introduction and transfer of skills between Africans and American artists and artisans. The fair will benefit Americans who will learn new skills practiced in Africa, with which they can run sustainable small businesses.
